Good afternoon Parents and Swimmers,
I want to thank all of you for a great first week last week. If I learned anything after sign ups and try outs it’s that the middle school students are talking about our team and are coming to high school ready to swim, which is awesome for the future of our program! We have 14 new freshman and 4 new upperclassman this year, and I have a feeling that number will increase next year. Here are the team updates for the week: Dryland Practice in the GAHS Weight Room Starts this week!
Team Suit Fitting is this Thursday at 4 pm for those of you who need to purchase the team suit. Since I will also be monitoring dryland for our juniors and seniors, my plan is to have VA Swim Shop set up in the A Commons near the weight room. I’ve attached the order form for this email. Fundraiser this Saturday 11/18/17 – Many thanks to everyone who has already signed up or offered to help. I do understand if you’ve got company coming in for Thanksgiving or will be out of town, so no worries if you cannot volunteer this time. I promise there will be other opportunities J I have had a lot of questions about younger swimmers signing up to help out, so I wanted to address that in one email. I did ask about this, but the age rule about student volunteers being 16 is a regulation they will not bend because of the cooking equipment in the concession stand. If you are able and would still like to sign up to volunteer here is the link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094ca8a92ea5fa7-concessions Boys Locker Room at YMCA – Boys, make sure you bring a towel out to the pool area with you. Captains- I will discuss voting for captains at dryland practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Practice Next Week- We will only have practice on Monday and Tuesday. Have a great rest of your week! Coach Lytle
